Michael Linton


Michael qualified as a teacher in Patrick Macdonald's school in London, UK in 1979 and is a member of CanSTAT, the Canadian Society of Teachers of Alexander Technique.

He also has a degree in Engineering from Cambridge, an MBA from Cranfield and a Diploma in Education from London.

He has taught the Alexander Technique for over 25 years, including two years at the Alexander Teacher Training School in London.

Michael brings to his teaching his experience in Tai chi and various sports, including sailing and skiing. His methods marry balance and grounding, poise and flow, thought and feeling.


Shirley Wade-Linton

Shirley qualified as a teacher from the Alexander Teacher Training School in London, UK in 2005. She is a member of the Canadian Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique.

Shirley was a registered dietitian for over 30 years, specializing in working with people with disordered eating. She had both a private practice in AT and also used AT in her work with women dealing with eating disorders.

She brings to her teaching her on-going experience in Yoga, Tai chi, meditation and kayaking.


Michael and Shirley have lived in the Comox Valley for 37 years and raised 3 children together.
